Lip Sync Exercise Evaluation

For the lip sync exercise we had to make a music video to the song "Don't go breaking my heart" by Elton John and Kiki Dee. In the group that i was working in we had a sound person, a camera man, and other people did other jobs like helped the two singers with their lines. We had to do different shots, to show who the audience is meant to focus on. We did a over the shoulder shot looking towards the lady singer and then switched shoulders so that the camera was facing the man singer. We also did a rolling shot, and we used the dolly to create this shot, the last shots that we did was a close up and a wide shot of the two singers. 

To improve the final piece for this exercise, we could have done more different shots and when editing make quicker shots between the two singers just to show the pace of the song.

Me and Diana have quite similar tastes in music, we both listen to all genres we have songs that we enjoy in most genres, we also both really enjoy song covers.

In my opinion Diana's strongest areas are directing and design, also she is very artistic which helps when drawing up a story board.

My strongest areas are directing, editing and acting.

Our task is to create a 'promo' music video, it will have to be 5 minutes long. We have the choice of either working in a group (of four maximum) or on our own.

We will also have to make a 'digipak' (six panels) for its release on CD. For the 'digipak' we will have to produce a magian advertisement. 

Also for the video we will have to produce a critical evaluation.

I listened to many different genres of music, i don't have a favourite genre.

My top five favourite songs are:

1. Amber Run - I Found

 - this song has a deeper meaning behind the lyrics and the video shows the deeper meaning.

2. Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me

3. Shawn Mendes - A Little Too Much

4. The Vamps - Middle Of the Night


5. Aerosmith - I Don't Want to Miss a Thing  

I like these songs because i like the rhythm they have. All these videos are very different which i like because it shows how music has been changing and adapting to new generations. 

Other things that attract me to these songs is because these videos all have close ups of the artists that are singing in the video.
